The IBF 25-1 petrol brushcutter from IKRA comes with an undergrowth cutter (automatic jog/semi-automatic) and a 4-tooth brush cutting blade. The cutting line spool can be used to conveniently trim grass and non-woody plants, e.g. grass tufts at lawn edges or under fixed objects, such as garden benches. The trimmer can also be used for mowing down to the ground (e.g. clearing work in the garden and on unwieldy, densely overgrown terrain).
The robust nylon cutting line is 2.0 mm thick. A trimmer spool with the designation DA-F11 is already included with the delivery of the motor brushcutter. Swing the brushcutter from side to side like a scythe (scything motion). Always keep the cutting line head parallel to the ground. Check the area to be mowed for obstacles such as molehills for example, and set the desired cutting height. Guide and hold the cutting line head at the desired height in order to achieve even cutting.
The four-blade cutting disc can be used to easily cut through undergrowth with thicker stalks, brush, tall grass and woody weeds. If the cutter has become blunt over the course of time, it can be turned over in order to extend the service life of the cutter.
Changing between the spool and cutter is very simple with the petrol-driven brushcutter. The cutting line produces a cutting circle (cutting width) of 43 cm and 23 cm with the brush cutting blade.
The powerful, high-performance 2-stroke motor, with 25 cc capacity and 0.8 kW cuts grass and undergrowth reliably and powerfully. With the petrol brushcutter you can tackle stalks and woody weeds particularly effectively. The petrol cutter can be started simply with the pull cord. The motor trimmer is equipped with a primer and a choke lever. The primer is a petrol pump (rubber push-pump) that pumps petrol into the fuel lines and carburettor when pushed, before the motor is started. The choke is the starter lever.
The petrol tank can hold max. 500 ml of petrol. For optimum results, use normal, lead-free fuel mixed with special 2-stroke motor oil (40:1). Follow the mixing instructions. The mixing ratio is 40:1, which means that you should mix one litre of petrol with 25 ml 2-stroke oil. The mixture should be mixed in a suitable container, not directly in the fuel tank of the device. Shake the container to mix the liquids carefully.
The petrol brushcutter is extremely simple to handle. The brushcutter is simple to operate and very efficient for trimming and cutting grass and undergrowth. The petrol-driven brushcutter is particularly easy and light to guide thanks to the handy and ergonomic bike handlebars and the shoulder strap provided. The height of the aluminium bike handle is adjustable.
The shoulder strap provided fastens the device perfectly to your body. Working comfort is increased significantly by this as you no longer need to bear the whole weight of the tool with hands and arms alone. Stresses on the hands, wrists, arms, shoulders and back are thus reduced. You have better control of the brushcutter when using the shoulder strap. This prevents rapid fatigue and promotes good posture when trimming. It allows you to work whilst taking care of your shoulders and back.
The shoulder strap can be easily fastened to the petrol brushcutter with the carabiner hook. The size of the shoulder strap can be individually adjusted and can therefore be adapted to suit your needs. Adjust the length of the strap so that the trimmer runs parallel to the ground when attached. Determine the correct attachment point for the brushcutter by performing a few practice swings while the motor is not running. Never carry the belt diagonally across your shoulders and chest, but rather only on one shoulder, so that you can rapidly move away from the tool in case of danger. The carry strap ensures the best possible handling and guidance of the brushcutter.
The bike handlebars enable the brushcutter to be perfectly controlled when trimming grass or cutting undergrowth – secure and comfortable guidance of the motor trimmer is assured. Always hold the device firmly with both hand grips. The controls such as throttle, ignition switch and locking button are ergonomically attached to the right bike grip. This ensures that the brushcutter can be intuitively controlled.
As mentioned above, the petrol brushcutter is delivered with a cutting line cartridge. If the cutting line becomes too short while the petrol brushcutter is being used, the automatic tapping feed (semi-automatic cutting line feed) will ensure that simply "tapping the spool" on the ground will provide quick and simple lengthening of the cutting line. The spring mechanism in the cutting line spool is activated by the tapping and centrifugal force lengthens the nylon cutting line.
The trimmer cutting line is fed out of the cutting line housing by tapping and is then automatically cut to the correct length by the cutting blade on the semi-circular protective cover. The automatic tapping feed also prevents the cutting line becoming entangled. The cutting line spool is a twin-line spool. The cutting line cartridge has two outlet eyes for the cutting line. Twin-line spools cut the grass even more effectively and the spool also runs more quietly. The cutting line is not used up so quickly.
The rear protective cover, which faces you when you are working, protects your shoes from the rotating cutting line or the 4-tooth blade disc. The cover also ensures that the cut grass is not swirled up too high towards the rear. Only half of the swept path of the rapidly rotating cutting line is covered by the protective plastic cover. The advantage of the open section is that you can also cut very close to edges and corners, for example. Try to ensure that the cutting line does not come into contact with hard surfaces, such as stone, wood and steel, as this wears out the nylon cutting line faster. The surfaces are not normally damaged by contact with the cutting line. You should not work too close to the edge with the cutting blades are contact with hard objects could cause a kickback. Contact could damage the cutting blade and the surface.
After you are finished working with the brushcutter, you can split the sturdy and durable aluminium tube with the help of the quick-fastener to save space when storing it. The aluminium tube has a diameter of approx. 25 mm. Thick tube for increased stability and reduced vibrations. The cellar, garage, summerhouse or garden shed, for example, would be ideal for storage.
How do I start the brushcutter?
To avoid overloading the motor when starting, shorten the cutting thread manually to approx. 17 cm with scissors or a knife. Now set the ignition switch to the "I” position. Move the choke to the "Start" position. Press the fuel pump (primer) 5-6 times. To operate the throttle lever, the locking lever must be pressed first. Press the throttle and lock at half throttle by pressing the lock button and releasing the throttle. Hold the device firmly by the hand grip. Pull the start cord 2-3 times - a steady, fast pull is required to start the motor. Slide the starter flap (choke) to the "RUN" position. Pull the start cord until the motor starts. As soon as the motor has started, rev briefly to release the throttle lever from the half throttle position and bring the motor to idle. Allow the motor to warm up for approx. 10 seconds at idling speed. If the motor does not start then repeat the steps.
Always pull the start cord straight out. When pulled out at an angle, the cord rubs against the eyelet. This friction causes abrasion of the thread and thus higher wear. Always hold the start handle firmly when pulling back the cord. Make sure that the cord does not recoil when extended. This could cause the cord to catch and/or damage the starter housing.
Now set the ignition switch to the "I” position. To operate the throttle lever, the locking lever must be pressed first. Press the throttle lever and lock at half throttle by operating the locking button, release the throttle lever. Slide the starter flap to the "RUN" position. Pull the start cord until the motor starts. As soon as the motor has started, rev briefly to release the throttle lever from the half throttle position and bring the motor to idle. Do not use the primer or choke during a warm start.
